Crash notifications: why am I getting an email?

We let you know when your server crashes – and you can turn this off.

We check every few minutes whether your server is still running. If it crashes, you get an email – at most one every 6 hours per server.

  • “… has crashed”: the server is no longer running. Restart it on the server page.
  • “… was restarted after a crash”: the server crashed and is running again automatically.

What doesn't count as a crash

Starting, stopping or restarting via the server page, a reinstall, restoring a backup, schedules and changes to startup variables don't trigger a notification – nor does a modpack installation in progress. If an entire server machine has a problem, you'll get an outage notification instead.

Finding the cause

The cause is almost always in the last lines of the Console – often a mod, a plugin or too little memory. Help: Server won't start after a mod change and History and performance recommendation.

Turning it off

Server page → Manage card → Crash alerts: on → Turn off. This applies per server. For DayZ, Arma 3, ARK and Squad it also turns off the emails about mod updates.
