Here you’ll learn how to connect to your American Truck Simulator server (Convoy) and set it up.

Connecting

  1. Start the server on the server page with Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
  3. In the game, choose Convoy mode and search the server list for your server’s lobby name.
  4. The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.

Important settings

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

  • Lobby name (LOBBY_NAME) – the name under which your server appears in the list.
  • Steam token (STEAM_TOKEN) – gives your server a fixed server ID. You create it at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers (you must own the game). Without a token the server runs too, but its search ID changes on every restart.
  • Automatic update (AUTO_UPDATE) – updates the server on start.

More settings (e.g. password and player count) can be found in the file server_config.sii under .local/share/American Truck Simulator/ in the Files tab.

Good to know

  • The Steam token is optional. You can enter it when ordering or later under Startup variables.
  • During setup, the server files are downloaded via Steam, so the first start may take a few minutes longer.
