Cubic Odyssey: connect to and set up your server

Here's how to connect to your Cubic Odyssey server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

1. Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
3. Open the Console tab and wait for the line “Lobby Key: …” (e.g. DS-ABCDEF).
4. Join in Cubic Odyssey with this lobby key. The connection runs through Epic Online Services – you don’t need an IP address.

Important settings

In the Startup variables tab:

• Server name (SERVER_NAME) – name of the server.
• Server password (SERVER_PASSWORD) – code to join; empty = open.
• Max. players (MAX_PLAYERS) – maximum number of players.
• Game mode (GAME_MODE) – default ADVENTURE.
• Galaxy seed (GALAXY_SEED) – seed of the galaxy (new world only).

Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Good to know

• The server runs under Wine and needs a lot of CPU – if it stutters, more CPU helps (upgrade).
