Here you'll learn how to find and set up your Don't Starve Together server.
Connecting
- Start the server on the server page with Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
- In the game, choose “Play” → “Browse” and search for your cluster name.
Important settings
- Cluster name (
CLUSTER_NAME) – the name in the server browser. - Cluster description (
CLUSTER_DESC) – text in the server details. - Max. players (
MAX_PLAYERS) – overrides the value incluster.ini. - Game mode (
GAME_MODE) – survival, endless or wilderness. - Server token (
SERVER_TOKEN) – your cluster token from Klei.
You'll find further settings in the Files tab: DoNotStarveTogether/config/server/cluster.ini as well as server.ini in the Master and Caves folders.
Changes to the Startup variables take effect on the next restart.
Good to know
- You enter the cluster token when ordering and can change it later under Startup variables. How to get the token is explained in the article “Don't Starve Together: Creating a cluster token”.
- The server starts an overworld and a cave. Starting can therefore take a little longer.
