Here you'll learn how to connect to your ECO server.
Connecting
- Start the server on the server page with Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
- In the game, connect via the multiplayer menu or direct connect using the address (IP:Port) at the top of your server page.
Important settings
- Public server (
PUB_SRV) – true = publicly listed, false = private. - Server password (
SRV_PWD) – password for joining. - Server description (
SRV_DES) – short description of the server. - Max. connections (
MAX_CON) – maximum number of players; -1 = unlimited.
You'll find network settings in the Files tab in Configs/Network.eco.
Changes to the Startup variables take effect on the next restart.
Good to know
- On first start, the server downloads the game files. This can take a few minutes – please don't interrupt it.
- You can find further ports of your server in the Ports tab.
Eco server token (required)
Eco servers register with Strange Cloud. For this you need a server token from your Eco account on play.eco. You enter it when ordering; you can change it later under Startup variables (“Eco server token”) – then restart the server. Without a valid token, the server shuts down right after starting.
