Here you'll learn how to connect to your Empyrion – Galactic Survival server.
Connecting
- Start the server on the server page with Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
- Search for your server name in the in-game server browser, or connect directly using the address (IP:Port) at the top of your server page.
Important settings
- Server name (
SRV_NAME) – the name in the server browser. - Server password (
SRV_PWD) – optional password for joining. - Max. players (
MAX_PLAYERS) – default 20. - Seed (
SEED) – seed for world generation (1 to 7 digits). - Description (
SRV_DESC) – server info, up to 127 characters.
You'll find further settings in the Files tab in empyrion/dedicated.yaml.
Changes to the Startup variables take effect on the next restart.
Good to know
- The Telnet port (
TELNET_PORT) is only used to control the server and should not be publicly accessible. - On first start, the server downloads the game files. This can take a few minutes – please don't interrupt it.
