Here you’ll learn how to connect to your Euro Truck Simulator 2 server (Convoy) and set it up.
Connecting
- Start the server on the server page with Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
- In the game, choose Convoy mode and search the server list for your server’s lobby name.
- The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.
Important settings
You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.
- Lobby name (
LOBBY_NAME) – the name under which your server appears in the list. - Steam token (
STEAM_TOKEN) – gives your server a fixed server ID. You create it at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers (you must own the game). - Automatic update (
AUTO_UPDATE) – updates the server on start.
More settings (e.g. password and player count) can be found in the file server_config.sii under .local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ in the Files tab.
Good to know
- You enter the Steam token when ordering. You can change it later under Startup variables.
- During setup, the server files are downloaded via Steam, so the first start may take a few minutes longer.
