FiveM: connect to and set up your server

Here's how to connect to your FiveM server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

1. Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
3. Copy the address (IP:Port) at the top of the server page.
4. In FiveM, open the console with F8 and enter connect IP:Port (address from the server page).

Important settings

In the Startup variables tab:

• Server name (SERVER_HOSTNAME) – name in the server browser.
• License key (FIVEM_LICENSE) – the server won't start without a valid key.
• FiveM version (FIVEM_VERSION) – version to install; invalid entries fall back to the recommended one.
• Steam Web API key (STEAM_WEBAPIKEY) – your Steam Web API key or none.
• txAdmin (TXADMIN_ENABLE) – 1 enables the txAdmin management interface.

More settings (e.g. resources) are in server.cfg in the Files tab. Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Good to know

• You enter the license key when ordering; it can be changed later under Startup variables. How to get one is explained in the article “FiveM: enter your license key”.
• You'll find additional ports (e.g. for txAdmin) in the Ports tab.
