In the Installer tab you change the server software and install plugins – no file uploads needed.
Change the server version
- Server page → Installer → Server version.
- Choose the type of software: Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge or Mohist.
- Click Switch next to the version you want and confirm.
- Restart the server afterwards.
We set the matching Java version automatically. Your world is kept. Leave the Automatically create a backup first (recommended) box ticked – then we save the current state first.
NeoForge is only available via modpacks (see Install a modpack). If you need NeoForge without a modpack, send us a ticket.
Install plugins
- Server page → Installer → Plugins.
- Search for a plugin and click Install.
- Restart the server.
The plugins come from the SpigotMC directory and run on Paper and Purpur. Upload paid plugins or plugins without a direct download yourself under Files into the plugins folder. That is also where you remove plugins.
Good to know
- Plugins need Paper or Purpur, mods need Fabric, Forge or NeoForge – both together only works with special solutions such as Mohist.
- An older Minecraft version can damage a newer world. Only switch to an older version with a backup.
- Your players need the matching Minecraft version in the game.
