No One Survived: Connecting to and setting up your server

How to connect to your No One Survived server, set a password and find the admin password.

Here you'll learn how to connect to your No One Survived server and change the most important settings.

Connecting

  1. Start the server on the server page with Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
  3. In the game, connect via the multiplayer menu or direct connect using the address from the server page.
  4. The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.

Important settings

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

  • Server name (SERVER_NAME) – the name of your server.
  • Server password on/off (SERVER_NEED_PASSWORD) and Server password (SERVER_PASSWORD) – the password only applies if the switch is set to True.
  • Save name (SERVER_SAVE_NAME) – the save that is loaded by default.
  • Number of zombies (SERVER_NUM_ZOMBIES) – zombies per wave (25–100).
  • Admin password (SERVER_ADMIN_PASSWORD) – the password for admin rights.

You'll find further settings in the Files tab in WRSH/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini and Engine.ini.

Good to know

  • The portal generates the Admin password automatically during setup. It is shown once at the top of the server page – please make a note of it. You can change it under Startup variables.
  • Leave Steam Networking (STEAM_NETWORKING) set to False, otherwise the server won't start.
  • The server runs as the Windows version. The first start therefore takes a little longer.
