Operation: Harsh Doorstop: connect to and set up your server

Here's how to connect to your Operation: Harsh Doorstop server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
Copy the address (IP:Port) at the top of the server page.
Launch Operation: Harsh Doorstop and connect via the server list or directly with the address. Alternatively add the IP with the query port (Ports tab) in Steam under View → Game servers → Favourites.

In the Startup variables tab:

Max Players (MAX_PLAYERS) – Maximum number of players allowed by this server.
Server name (SERVER_NAME) – Defines the display or host name of the game server when listed in a server browser.
Rcon Max Auth Attempts (RCON_MAX_AUTH_ATTEMPTS) – Defines the maximum number of authentication attempts an RCON connection can make before being forcibly disconnected.
Rcon Password (RCON_PASSWORD) – Defines the password used for authenticating with the RCON server.
Rcon Max Connections (RCON_MAX_CONNECTIONS) – Maximum number of concurrent RCON connections.

Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Passwords such as RCON_PASSWORD are generated automatically by the portal. They are shown once at the top of the server page – please note them down.
The first start takes longer because the server files are downloaded and set up.
