RedM: Connecting to and setting up your server

Here you’ll learn how to connect to your RedM server and change the most important settings.

Connecting

1. Start the server on the server page with Start.
2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
3. In RedM, open the console with F8 and enter connect IP:Port.
4. The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.

Important settings

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

• CFX license (CFX_LICENSE) – the server won’t start without a valid key. You can get the key at keymaster.fivem.net.
• Server name (SERVER_HOSTNAME) – the name in the server browser.
• CFX version (CFX_VERSION) – the server version. Invalid values fall back to latest.
• Steam Web API Key (STEAM_WEBAPIKEY) – your Steam Web API key or none.

You manage resources and other settings in the file server.cfg in the Files tab.

Good to know

• You enter the CFX license key when ordering. You can change it later under Startup variables.
