Here's how to connect to your Rising World server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

  1. Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
  3. Copy the address (IP:Port) at the top of the server page.
  4. Launch Rising World and connect via the server list or directly with the address. Alternatively add the IP with the query port (Ports tab) in Steam under View → Game servers → Favourites.

Important settings

In the Startup variables tab:

  • Server Name (SRV_NAME) – Server name (shows up in server list).
  • Server Password (SRV_PW) – Server password. If set, users are prompted to enter the pw to join the server. Leave blank for no pw.
  • Game Mode (GAME_MODE) – Default world game mode (only used when a new world is created). Either "Survival" or "Creative".
  • World Name (WORLD_NAME) – Name of the world which should be loaded (if it does not exist, it will be created).
  • [Advanced] Enable RCON (RCON) – Determines whether or not the RCON tool should be enabled.
  • [Advanced] RCON Password (RCON_PASS) – Password required for RCON login. Min 6 characters (!).

Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Good to know

  • Passwords such as RCON_PASS are generated automatically by the portal. They are shown once at the top of the server page – please note them down.
  • The first start takes longer because the server files are downloaded and set up.
