RuneScape: Dragonwilds: Connecting to and setting up your server

How to set up your Dragonwilds server (owner ID, passwords) and how other players find your world.

Here you’ll learn how to set up your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server and how you and your fellow players join.

Connecting

  1. Start the server on the server page with Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
  3. In the game, search the worlds menu’s “Public” tab for your server’s world name (it’s case-sensitive).

Important settings

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

  • Owner ID (OWNER_ID) – your player ID. You’ll find it in the game at the bottom of the settings menu, where a button lets you copy it.
  • World name (DEFAULT_WORLD_NAME) – the name of the world on first start. This is what your fellow players search for.
  • Server name (SERVER_NAME) – shown in the server browser as “Created by”.
  • World password (WORLD_PASSWORD) – optional password for joining.
  • Admin password (ADMIN_PASSWORD) – opens server management under Settings in the pause menu.
  • Max. players (MAX_PLAYERS) – 1 to 6 players.

Good to know

  • The server won’t start without a valid Owner ID. You already enter it when ordering (32 letters and digits); you can change it under Startup variables – then restart.
  • The portal generates the admin password automatically during setup. It is shown once at the top of the server page – please write it down. You can change it under Startup variables.
  • During setup, the server files are downloaded via Steam, so the first start may take a few minutes longer.
