Here's how to connect to your s&box server and adjust the most important settings.
Connecting
- Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
- Launch s&box and find the server in the server list by its name.
Important settings
In the Startup variables tab:
- Server name (
SERVER_NAME) – name in the server list. - Auto update (
AUTO_UPDATE) – keeps the server up to date on start.
Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.
Good to know
- The first start takes a few minutes because s&box downloads content from the Workshop.
- Console messages like “Error loading resource … gmod” are harmless – they refer to missing Garry’s Mod content.
