Satisfactory: connect to and set up your server

Here's how to connect to your Satisfactory server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

1. Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
3. Copy the address (IP:Port) at the top of the server page.
4. In the Satisfactory main menu, open the Server Manager, add the server with this address and set it up when you first connect (choose a name and admin password).

Important settings

In the Startup variables tab:

• Autosave interval (AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL) – how often the game saves, in seconds (e.g. 300 = 5 minutes).
• Number of autosaves (NUM_AUTOSAVES) – how many automatic saves are kept.
• Disable seasonal events (DISABLE_SEASONAL) – true turns off current seasonal events.
• Max. players (MAX_PLAYERS) – experimental; a change only takes effect after a reinstall – afterwards click Reinstall under Manage on the server page (create a backup first).
• Automatic updates (AUTO_UPDATE) – checks for updates on start.

More settings are in Game.ini, Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini under FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ in the Files tab. Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Good to know

• The first start takes longer because the server files are downloaded and set up.
