Here's how to connect to your Smalland: Survive the Wilds server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

  1. Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
  3. Copy the address (IP:Port) at the top of the server page.
  4. Launch Smalland and connect via the server list or directly with the address. Alternatively add the IP with the query port (Ports tab) in Steam under View → Game servers → Favourites.

Important settings

In the Startup variables tab:

  • Server Name (SERVERNAME) – Name displayed in the server browser.
  • World Name (WORLDNAME) – Name of the save game file.
  • Server Password (PASSWORD) – Server password required to access the server.
  • Is Private Game (PRIVATE) – Flag indicating if this game is private.
  • Friendly Fire Enabled (FRIENDLYFIRE) – Enable/disable friendly fire.
  • Peaceful Mode Enabled (PEACEFULMODE) – Enable/disable peaceful mode.
  • Keep Inventory Enabled (KEEPINVENTORY) – Enable/disable keep inventory.

Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Good to know

  • The first start takes longer because the server files are downloaded and set up.
