Soulmask: Connecting to and setting up your server

Start your Soulmask server, connect in the game and set the name, password, player count and admin access.

Here's how to connect to your Soulmask server and adjust the most important settings.

Connecting

  1. Open the server page in the client area and click Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
  3. Copy the address (IP:Port) at the top of the server page.
  4. In the game, connect to this address via the multiplayer menu or direct connect.

Important settings

In the Startup variables tab:

  • Server name (SERVER_NAME) – name in the server list.
  • Server password (SERVER_PASSWORD) – password for joining.
  • Max. players (MAX_PLAYERS) – maximum number of players.
  • Admin password (ADMIN_PASSWORD) – unlocks the GM panel in the game (gm key Passwort).
  • Additional arguments (EXTRA_ARGS) – e.g. -pve for a PvE server.

Changes in the Startup variables tab take effect on the next restart.

Good to know

  • The portal generates the admin password automatically during setup. It is shown once at the top of the server page – please make a note of it. You can change it in the Startup variables tab (ADMIN_PASSWORD).
  • The first start takes longer because the server files are downloaded and set up.
