Stationeers: Connecting to and setting up your server

How to connect to your Stationeers server and adjust the name, world and save.

Here you'll learn how to connect to your Stationeers server and change the most important settings.

Connecting

  1. Start the server on the server page with Start.
  2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
  3. In the game, connect via the multiplayer menu or direct connect using the address from the server page.
  4. The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.

Important settings

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

  • Server name (SERVER_NAME) – the name your server is displayed under.
  • World (WORLD_NAME) – the map, e.g. Moon, Mars, Europa, Mimas, Vulcan, Venus or Loulan.
  • Max. players (MAX_PLAYERS) – how many players can join at the same time (1–30).
  • Save name (SAVE_NAME) – the save that is automatically loaded and saved on start.
  • Autosave (AUTOSAVE) and Save interval (SAVE_INTERVAL) – autosave on/off and interval in seconds.

Good to know

  • During setup, the server files are downloaded via Steam. The first start can therefore take a few minutes longer.
  • If you change World or Save name, the server loads a different save on the next start. Create a backup in the Backups tab first.
