Here you'll learn how to connect to your The Isle server and change the most important settings.
Connecting
- Start the server on the server page with Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console tab.
- Search for your server name in the in-game server browser, or connect directly using the address (IP:Port) at the top of your server page.
Important settings
- Server name (
SERVER_NAME) – the name in the server browser. - Player count (
PLAYER_COUNT) – maximum number of players. - Server password enabled (
SERVER_PASSWORD_ENABLED) and Server password (SERVER_PASSWORD) – turn password protection on or off and set the password. - RCON (
RCON) – enable remote control (off by default). - Humans (
HUMANS) and Dynamic weather (DYNAMIC_WEATHER) – game options on/off.
You'll find further settings in the Files tab in TheIsle/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini.
Changes to the Startup variables take effect on the next restart.
Good to know
- The RCON password (
RCON_PASSWORD) is generated automatically by the portal during setup. It is shown once at the top of the server page – please make a note of it. You can change it in the Startup variables tab. It is only used once you enable RCON. - On first start, the server downloads the game files. This can take a few minutes – please don't interrupt it.
