Veloren: Connecting to and setting up your server

Here you’ll learn how to connect to your Veloren server and change the most important settings.

Connecting

1. Start the server on the server page with Start.
2. Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
3. In the game, connect via the multiplayer menu or direct connect using the address from the server page.
4. The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.

Important settings

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

• Server name (SERVER_NAME) – the name your server displays.
• Version (VERSION) – weekly loads the latest weekly build, nightly the latest nightly build.

More settings can be found in the file userdata/server/server_config/settings.ron in the Files tab.

Good to know

• The server and the game should use the same version. If the connection fails because of the version, check the Version setting and your game client.
