Wurm Unlimited: Connecting to and setting up your server

Here you'll learn how to connect to your Wurm Unlimited server and configure the most important settings.

Connecting

Start the server on the server page with Start.
Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
In the game, connect via the multiplayer menu or direct connect using the address from the server page.
The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.

You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.

Server name (SERVERNAME) – the name that appears in the server browser.
Server password (SERVERPWD) – the password for joining.
Admin password (ADMINPWD) – unlocks admin commands in the game, e.g. for the skill rate or the growth time of fields. At most 20 characters.
World (SERVER_WORLD) – the world on start. Included are dist/Adventure and dist/Creative (mind upper/lower case).
Enable PvP (PVP) – whether players may fight each other.

Further startup settings are in the file LaunchConfig.ini in the Files tab.

During setup, the server files are downloaded via Steam. The first start can therefore take a few minutes longer.
Set your own Admin password before you make the server public.
