Here you’ll learn how to connect to your Xonotic server and change the most important settings.
Connecting
- Start the server on the server page with Start.
- Wait until the status shows “running”. You can follow the progress in the Console.
- In the game, open the console and enter
connect IP:Port. Alternatively, use the multiplayer menu. - The address (IP:Port) is shown at the top of your server page.
Important settings
You change these values in the Startup variables tab. Changes take effect on the next restart.
- Max. players (
MAX_PLAYERS) – how many players can join at the same time. - Version (
VERSION) – which Xonotic version is installed.
You manage your server’s other files in the Files tab.
Good to know
- The server and the game should use the same Xonotic version.
