Tired of your current game? Instead of cancelling and ordering again, switch the game on your existing server.
How it works
- Server page → Manage card → Switch game.
- Choose the new game with Select. Each game shows memory, storage and monthly price – and whether anything is due now on a pro-rata basis.
- On the next page: tick the backup box (recommended), confirm that the files will be replaced and click Switch to … now.
What happens
- All files of the current game are replaced – world, settings, mods. With the box ticked, we first create a backup “Vor Spielwechsel – …”. It stays under Backups for you to download.
- The server is off for 5–30 minutes during the switch. You can follow the progress on the server page, and you'll get an email at the end.
- Address and contract stay. Only if the current port doesn't suit the new game does the server get a new one. Additional ports are assigned anew.
- Automatically generated admin or RCON passwords are generated again for the new game.
Costs
- Your memory is carried over. If the new game needs more, we upgrade accordingly.
- More expensive game: you only pay the difference pro rata until the next due date – from your credit, otherwise by invoice. The switch starts after payment. Until then you can undo it with Cancel switch.
- Cheaper game: you pay less from now on. There is no refund for the current period.
Good to know
- You can choose from the games in the same product group that are available at your location.
- Trial servers cannot switch – keep the server first.
- Only one switch can run at a time.
