For DayZ, mods and map decide the memory – player count comes second. Our DayZ servers start with 5 GB.
Guide values
| What you play | Players at once | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Chernarus or Livonia without mods | up to 30 | 5–6 GB |
| Chernarus without mods | 30–60 | 7–8 GB |
| Some mods (e.g. admin tool, code lock, base building) | up to 40 | 7–8 GB |
| DayZ Expansion or maps like Namalsk and Deer Isle | up to 40 | 8–10 GB |
| Many mods and a large map | 40–60 | 11–13 GB |
What else affects it
- Loot and bases: More items in
types.xmland many bases increase the need over time. - Vehicles and traders: Expansion traders, many vehicles and AI mods cost extra memory and CPU.
- CPU power: With many players or AI mods, the next CPU tier helps against lag.
Install mods conveniently in the Mods tab – step by step.
Start small, upgrade later
You don't have to decide right away: you can change the memory yourself at any time – your world, mods and settings stay, and on an upgrade you only pay the pro-rata difference. See Booking more or less memory.
On the server page, the history shows how much memory your server really uses and recommends a suitable tier if needed – more on this. If it lags even though memory is free, more CPU power usually helps more.
