In Satisfactory, memory grows with your factory, not with the number of players: every conveyor belt, machine and train is simulated by the server. A new server without a save needs hardly anything – a large late-game factory needs a lot.
Guide values
| Game progress | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| New save, tier 0–4 | 4–5 GB |
| Mid game, tier 5–6, first trains | 6–7 GB |
| Late game, large factories, many trains and drones | 8–9 GB |
By default up to 4 players play together. You hardly need to plan memory for the player count.
What else affects the requirement
- Factory size: Many machines, long conveyor belts and large rail networks cost the most.
- Your own save: If you upload an advanced save from your PC, book the matching tier right away – how to upload your save.
Start small, upgrade later
You don't have to decide right away: you can change the memory yourself at any time – your world, mods and settings stay, and on an upgrade you only pay the pro-rata difference. See Booking more or less memory.
On the server page, the history shows how much memory your server really uses and recommends a suitable tier if needed – more on this. If it lags even though memory is free, more CPU power usually helps more.
